Slow leaks are tough...could be radiator, water pump or heater core, hoses. The mech should put on a pressure tester on the radiator filler opening and that'll will show the leak up to the tstat...after the tstat then it's visual detection. If the radiator is modern with crimp on plastic tanks, then you're in for a new one. If it's in the heater core, then the dash will probably have to come. Either way...put a large sheet of card board under it and see where it spots and follow it up. Some may tell you to put stop leak into it but that generally doesn't fix it long term.
