Yeah I never had thought of the barrel, but years ago I was clearing a spot, and an old logger came over to show me how to be clean without alot of tractor work. What I liked about it was not only did the stumps all burn out below ground, when I got through all the limbs were gone instead of still having a brush pile to clean up. Another thing I like about it is that if you're taking out Chinese tallows or some species that will keep sprouting back from the roots, the burning kills it out so you're not having to worry with it, and no herbicides to worry with.
