Farmer boy, you were just asking to get bashed by the way you phrased the question.
1st mistake: You don't accuse others of being "obsessed" just because they choose to own something that you have no interest in. By your standards, owning a bowling ball shows "obsession" if you are not a bowler.
2nd mistake: You don't assume that everyone is else is wrong in their judgement if your judgement tells you their actions are "beyond me".
Or maybe I just missed the announcement that God had put you in charge of thinking for everyone else on this earth. Warning - Arrogance will usually get you bashed up pretty good. You might consider getting you a gun for self-protection. Then at least one of the purposes for owning a gun will no longer be "beyond you".
