Methyl hydrate We were stopped way up north Ontario because of a possible frozen gas line and I trucker stopped to give us a hand in that freezing snow storm. He pulled out his Methyl hydrate and had us going in less then 5 minites. Ever since I have been fond of it. But what exactly does it do? One story I heard was that it is soluable with water and joins with it and gets burnt. Another story is that it makes the water fall to the bottom of the tank and the water can give problems another day. How much to use? I only use a few capfulls per tank. Is it good for the diesel and the gas engine and will it eat the rubber components??
