Well, if it were me, I would get the person that did the work correct the problem. Sounds like coolant is getting in the cylinders (white smoke). Sounds like the leak is getting worse. Probably a head gasket leaking. Did he have the head checked and machined true? Those flat heads will warp some if mistreated during a previous life. If you have had problems with this ever since he worked on it, it should be his responsibility to correct his mistake. Don't let him just pour a can of stop leak in the radiator. The problem may go away for a while, but will come back to haunt you down the road.
