Before I had my own trailer, I went to a rental place when I needed one. But make sure you get a trailer that has a heavy enough weight rating to haul your tractor (i.e. a car hauler won't carry an IH560!). On the otherhand, if Grandpa's old Ford is an 8N, a car hauler should be able to handle it. Also make sure your tow vehicle is up to the task. Here again, I wouldn't try to drag around my 560 with an S-10. Most of my hauling has been within a couple hundred miles, but I have gone as far as Ft Worth,Texas (600 miles from NE) to get a tractor.
