We had one that was one the submarine i was stationed on.It was a 12 cylinder 24 piston oppossing crank. Meaning top crank ran the blower and fuel pump and i believe water pump.Bottom crank ran the generater and oil pump.It was also air started by pumping air in the cylinders turnining it over. Awsome engine. When it was made it was a switcher for a railroad yard somewhere in denver then became a backup gen for a hospital out there. Then in 1968 the US Navy got it and put in in the USS BLUEFISH SSN675 . .
