My guess is that your software that came with your modem installed them and they are working like the led lamps on a modem...probably one is for indicating receive signal and the other is for send. Pretty useless really although they are something to watch when your connection hangs up. Each time you furiously tap your keyboard the send light will flash away. When you connection hangs the blinking of the recieve light will be your first indication that you are back in business. :-) Good Luck Kim
