A 147 Cadet should have a 14hp Kohler. That's what the 1st two numbers mean. An odd final number indicated hydrostatic transmission; even is manual. The 147 came with either a hydraulic (much prefered) or electric lift. IH had some problems with the electrical lift. One was that the operator did not properly set the stops and over extended, eventually causing failure. There were other options available, too. and a whole range of attachments. Sounds like that one is some kind of 'put-together' Cadet. Is the deck good?. That could be a saving point. For a parts machine, MIGHT be OK. Seems high to me. or maybe you could get a 14hp engine. Also, hydrostatic typically consummed about 2hp. Therefore, if you're planning on a lot of mowing and have hills/grade, you may find it to be rather underpowered. (It is a 107 with that 10hp engine NOT a 147) Just some thoughts.
