Good advice, HH. I believe "netstat -t" will narrow it down to TCP connections, which is a little more understandable. (At least it does on Linux/UNIX systems.)
If you REALLY want to know what's going over your network connection, you can download wireshark (nee ethereal), which allows you to examine each byte that goes out of or into your machine. Not for the faint of heart.
It's entirely possible that X22's machine has been taken over by a "bot" and is being used to relay spam or other malicious traffic.
