THANKS FOR THE HELP. SURE ENOUGH THERE IS A NUMBER ON THE ENGINE WHERE IT BOLTS TO THE BELL HOUSING. 5208547LA. Walt by your clculations this makes it a 48 LA. As for the oil drain we have a drain plug right on the bottom of the oil pan in the middle. This is where it looks like it drains. When we drained it it overfilled a five gallon bucket and I guess another 2-3 gallons ran over. We are thinking it was overfilled. Another problem is: Brake pedals are on the floor do you know if I check the resivior and fill it, will they possibly pump back up? Sorry to be so ignorant but have never worked on these old tractors.
