I just bought my 3rd stick welder - Licoln 225 AC/DC, very nice. The thing about new welders, this one came with very short cables so I had to buy an extra 30 feet just to make it usable. That cost $200.00 more. So if you can buy a used one with long cables it is the way to go, considering how copper prices made them skimp on cables to keep the cost down!
