As far as solid color stain: I used Behr Paint stain (solid color plus 10) on the exterior of my house and garage. I have T1-11 siding too. The Behr paint stain that I am describing is the best for wood, goes on like butter on toast, drys in 2 hours $80 for 5 gallon bucket 150 colors, At Home Depot. I repainted (stained) 2 years ago, looks great. This paint stain says it is an oil/latex formula. I put it on with a thick roller. Way cheaper then putting on vinyl siding.
