BTDT and have found over the years the best by far is to buy a liner, its a thick piece of rubber that lays inside the tire. Install a tube because most tractor tires are tube type and do not hold air well if they are. The liner moves as you drive the tractor and rubs the ends off the thorns and then you have a lot less flats. Yes slime in the tube will also help even more.
