A friend of mine has a Yamaha 550cc atv that came with a 4' pto driven 3 ph mounted mower on the back.
He mows about 3 acres with it at warp speed, 4th gear anyway WFO. I have never seen one like it before, Its a 1989 model and he said he has only had to change the belt one time on the deck itself.
Doesn't Troy-Bilt make one of those mowers with a hitch that you can offset to any direction behind your atv or tractor ? I swear I have seen them advertised on tv basically just like you want. Its one of those TV advertised ones anyway that you might be able to get some ideas from.
