You CAN'T check battery cables with an Ohmmeter. (At least not in a useful manner.)
Obviously, there's a bad connection that conducts well enough to make you happy with what you see on the Ohmmeter, but won't carry enough current to crank the engine.
One or more of the cable ends is not making good contact with the conductor inside the cable.
