I just looked in the back of my copy of the Swinford book and I'm guessing that the latter half of the number BD3-563 is the serial number which would make it a 1949 model. I can't find anything on weight but horsepower with the 3-71 Detroit is 78. If California wasn't so far away, I'd come teach you to run it.
