Yes, I know raisins are dried grapes, but they are are treated as different crops.....one is harvested fresh...for juice, wine, etc. The other for the dried fruit itself. I THINK there are certain varieties of grapes just raised for raisin production. I also believe the harvesting equipment is specially set up to gather raisins as they don"t bruise like fresh grapes. It is a different crop altogether, in many respects.
