For my tractor hauling rig, I picked up a '62 Peterbilt with a 30 foot drop-deck trailer (heavy equipment style) at a local auction. The trailer is a bit of an overkill, but I can carry just about ANY tractor I want. I justed used it to bring back a JD 80 and MC from Howard, CO (about 9 hours from my farm in Utah) and it worked great. Do be aware that a commercial-sized (anything over 26,000 pounds GCWR) can be a bit involved to license, insure and run on the road. I have farm plates on my truck and I need a CDL to go more than 150 miles from my home (got it already), but I still have to pay fuel taxes - I usually do so on a trip-by-trip basis. The recent trip to CO cost me $20 each way for fuel taxes. Tim
