R1----Ag tires or tractor tires, big diagonal lugs that will not be nice to grass. but is the best for traction.
R4---All purpose tire for good traction and doesnt tear up grass. (what is have on my compact deere tractor) Also known as industial tires.
Turf tires--used for grass not good for traction in snow/ice. These are mostly known as R3 I think.
Then there is a smooth tire that look like balloons on the rims, I have never seen these other then in catalogs. Golf courses have these tires on equipment. Hope this helps.
