It MAY have stopped due to a fuel or ignition issue, and then the starter MAY have jammed when you attempted to start it. (NOT an uncommon occurrence with these tractors.)
With the ignition "OFF", put it in 4TH gear and rock it vigorously back and forth to see if it frees up.
Next step would be to loosen the starter mounting bolts, and see if the starter is loose, or is actually jammed.
If it's not a jammed starter, you have BIG problems.
