Electric water heater is overheating. Have replaced upper and lower thermostat. Bottom of tank feels cool to touch after being on for a half hour or so. Have read in archives about draining and getting lime out. Have not done that yet. First I would like to figure out if bottom element is working. It has power to it. With power off and 1 wire unhooked, I put an ohm meter across the 2 poles of the element. Ohm meter only moved a tiny bit. So my question at this time is - Does that type of meter reading mean the element is good or bad? Thanks in advance guys.
