Push the shaft all the way into the tube, remove the fitting from the tube that supplies the oil to the cylinder. Look into the hole and you may see a small wire ring in a groove on the shaft. With a pocket screwdriver roll the wire ring into the deeper groove in the end of the shaft and then try and remove the shaft from the tube. When you replace the dirt seal and o-rings, just reverse the procedure. Roll the wire ring out of the deep groove onto the shallow grove. If you go too far and it jumps off the end, just fish it out and try again.
