Ruger single actions -357,.44- good utility pistols. Brother has .357 for varmint control- raccoons- and uses shotshells for rats in chicken house. Deer rifle and hogs? 200 yards? Where hunting- brush or open fields like Wisconsin? Marlin 336 in .35 Remington perhaps. 30-30 has collected lot of deer also. Do you have experience with other rifles- Military training? Cheap Russian surplus M44s 7.62 Russian have enough power to handle hogs and deer at your specified range- may kick and blast a bit. Surplus No. 4 Enfields and 8mm Mausers also good utility choice- I used 8mm on deer. SKS used by a lot of hunters - 7.62x39 short Russian cartridge about like 30-30 at 200 yards. 6mm rifles on up to .375 mag could be used- depends on how much recoil and money you can handle for the hunting.
