I've only installed 2 sets of sleeves and both of them I ran a rabbit turd hone enough to clean up the rust where the o-rings set in the block. Both engines went together with out any troubles. If I understand things correctly, the head when clamped on is what holds the sleeve tight. Needs to have the correct stand out to seal.
