Thanks for you input folks, to answer a couple of your questions:
I use the 601 at my hunting camp in Wayland NY cutting verious grasses and clover. Rebuilding the 601 is not a bad idea and one I will give some serious thought to. However, I would like to sit lower so I can get under some trees on trails I cut, and it may be safer along a drainage ditch by the road. I value your opinions, I have had the camp for 15 years and 69 years old but still have a lot to learn about tractors and the good life in the country.
