I do not know about a IH M but when we did this to Dad's 190 Allis we cleaned BOTH the block and the sleeves so they would drop into the block and could be turned in the block easily with both the sleeves and the block at room tempature. We used up about three wire brushed on 1/4 inch shank in an air grinder to clean the block. Then we installed the bottom O-Rings, oiled the O-Rings and quickly installed the sleeves.
