Lights, possibly ignition switch, left on overnight. After charging batt back up, she turns over fine, but no fire at points. 12V conversion w alt. several years ago. Checked continuity across poles of switch, in the wire running from switch to coil, and across terminals of a ceramic resister by the coil that has something to do with the 12V conversion. 1) What could be the cause of no fire at the points? They are opening up normally as the engine cranks over.
2) What does the condenser do? Could it be the culprit?
3) How do I test the coil to make sure it is good? It isn't very old, as it is a 12V coil that was installed when converted to 12V.
4) I need to get the old girl out of my Dad's shop before he just yanks it out.
