One possibility is clog in fuel tank at cut off switch. When it cuts off you can check fuel flow by disconnecting fuel line at carburator and see if you have a good fuel flow with the cut off switch on , of course. If no flow or weak flow, you can blow air into line and back into tank with the GAS CAP OFF, briefly, and see if you have a good flow. That's a tempory fix, may last a month or 6 months, permanent fix is to clean tank. Another possibility is an ignition problem which you can check by seeing if you have spark at the plugs. If no spark, can be several things including bad coil, bad points and condensor, bad distributor cap, maybe even bad ignition switch. Good luck.
