Allan, for only a little more than the chains, plus delivery, I would look seriously at that. Soft core are the same as chainers, nobody wants them, and they do a good job. I am seriously considering looking for an old Claas when I get a new round baler, chep heavy, only drawback is the bearings, speaking of which, as a word of warning, CHECK THEM ALL. Those rollers fit tight, heavy, and aggravating. I think a soft core might just fit your pocket book. Then, you will have a runner, a backup, and a backup to the backup.
