So...after the disaster with the Suburban, my 2500 HD started acting stupid- seemed to accelerated from a stop thru 3rd gear, then held 3,000 RPM and delayed the 3-4 shift. Thought sure I had a trans problem, and Allison's ain't cheap. Googled it, and one guy said it was a "defueling" problem rather than a trans problem. Swapped out the fuel filter, and now she runs like a striped ape! I guess as the Duramax runs out of fuel and powers down, you keep your foot in it longer and it delays the shift? Anyway- just goes to show, it ain't always what you think it is!
