Well guys, if you've ever drove or owned one in thier day I'm guessing you would take the 450D hands down the SMTAD was what most of us in those days called the gutless wonder a strong M or SM would kick its backside anyday given the fuel consumption was better on the SMTAD but since in those days diesel fuel was somewhere around .16 to 20cents agallon and gas at maybe .26 to .30 that wasn't much of an issue. The early torques had issues i.e. you had to pull the trigger and drop the stick and I'm sure the 450 was much the same but stronger and the 450 was a strong 4X14 plow tractor the SMTAD was an average 3X14 plow tractor at best. Sorry guys I was there in those days. PS in cold weather was a hard starting SOB. IMHO
