Maark: I don't think it's gas taxes--in the 40+ years we've lived on the coast, in CA and OR, and done extensive driving in CA, OR and WA, there's never been a pattern I could see. One trip Cal was cheaper, next trip it'd be more expensive, and the same with WA, in relation to 0R. 2-3 yrs ago took a train tour in BC, drove up to Vanc BC; noticed gas in and near Vanc WA was very close to Ptld, did get a little cheaper up to Seattle area, but from Seattle north, the closer to Cnada the more expensive, until at the border was practically Canadian price!!
