Our land has not been farmed in over 35 years. Soil is light and depleted for the most part. Some areas have patches of heavy ground. I have fields of dewberry and it continues to expand. I'm hoping to get some rye in this fall to start to build up the soil. Has anyone had any experience with eliminating dewberry? I'm thinking about mowing it as short as possible and treating with a herbicide. Pastureguard and Cimarron are noted to work best. Any thoughts?
