But I prefer just to jump in the pond in the summer. On a hot day the top 2 feet of water is like a bath. If you really want to cold down, you have to dive down in the deep end.
If your place is like mine, it must be the thermostat, cause "no one touched it". Yet it continually creeps up from 69 to 74 in the winter.
