Yes, I've seen it as bad or worse before. I'm only 52. For me it was the worst in the early 80's. But I managed to buy into the housing market when it was depressed and actually made some money when it started recovering in the mid 80's. Bought again in the mid 80's and sold again about 90 at only a breakeven. Gas prices then, relative to my salary, were about what they are now. Here it was best in the 90's and early 2000's. Sure things are not great right now. It will take 2 to 4 years for things to recover and us forget about all this but it will pass.
