When it dies check the spark. If you don"t have any, I"d suspect the coil or the key switch. Is your electrical system a 6V or a 12V? If it"s a 12 V do you have a real 12V coil like NAPA IC-14SB? If you don"t do you have a resistor in the the primary ignition circuit? These coil are limited to 4 amps max current and if you have a 6V 1.5 ohm coil on a 12 V system, you"ll be putting about 8 amps through the coil and that will cause an overheat of the coil. Key switch can have high reisitance and cause a similar problem. When it dies on o you and has no spark, jumper around trhe key switch and see if it will start. If it starts when you jump the key switch, then the key switch will need replacement.
If you have a good spark when it dies, then it"s the fuel system that you should look at, Check fuel deivery to the carb and make sure the tank vent is clear.
