Winter wheat crop is about gone here in NE Colorado. After looking like one of the best in years this spring it has gotten no rain. Farmers are close to plowing it up. This is summer fallow country where ground is fallowed (kept free of weeds) all last year and then wheat this year. It never had any sub moisture to carry it through. There is little else that will grow here. With no rain they can't even grow cow feed, like sudan/sorgum. So much different than all you guys that have had rain all spring

For several years I had been driving by a farm house on the west side of Indianapolis that had a John Deere combine parked in high weeds in a lot behind the house. The gentleman no longer farmed because the entire area was developed with housing and light industry. I had stopped several times and knocked on the door but no one would answer.
