My wife's HD2500 CC 4x4 has the 8.1 with the Allison transmission. 9MPG pulling some serious loads at 65 MPH. 13MPG for everyday driving. There is no comparison for power and the allison makes it all work. It pulls a 30,000# load of corn to town with little effort, and 3 tractors on a 14K trailer is a walk in the park.
