Martin, I've learned the hard way, just like you, that... EASY OUTs AREN'T!I don't have any more in my tool box. I'm glad you were able to remove the broken piece from your block. I once sent a car to the bone yard with a broken easy-out stuck in a busted head bolt. In my experience, I've found the center of a hardened bolt to be softer than the outside. My small drills "self-centered" and I didn't need any fancy drill guides. By the time I reached the tap size, the hole was perfectly centered and the threads came right out. Good luck.
