This is a serious matter, and if you're going to give advice or opinions, at least get the names straight. The 2 transmissions used on 4240's are Quad-Range & PowerShift. The 8-speed PowerShift is totally safe & reliable if used & maintained correctly, as is the Quad-Range. The 7800 uses elctronic shift controls, so is a different animal than the older tractors.
