Back in 74 we hauled Coke for the blast furnaces one way and what they called blast furnace fines back the other. Nasty looken matieral some of it looked like the old jacks kids played with but bigger and sharper , some how some of the fines got spread on the road way in the slag yard . Well we hauled six loads of coke up and 6 loads of fines back and had a total of 18 flats out of the twenty that were on the truck in one day, several of the other trucks had there all at once . Made the tire jocky's real happy that day. That day it did not matter how slow you drove or how hard ya looked ya could not see that stuff in the slag drive .
