i agree with you Bill, cougar is a top predator and will take a human life. the problem i have with this whole senario is there have been sightings of this cat for the past several months, the powers that be just poo-poohed all the people that saw it, said there are no cougars in illinois. from the locations of the sightings, it was pretty obvious the cat was moving in the general direction toward the city. nothing was done until the cat was cornered near wrigley field. then they blew it up in a hail of gunfire that would make al capone smile. the cat was shot in a gangway, a narrow alley between two buildings, cops on either end. if they needed to put the animal down, have somebody that can shoot put it down humanely, one shot.
