Boosting a 6V battery with a 12V is very risky. The 6V battery must be absorbing well over 100 amps charge. I have seen them begain to gas so badly that after about 30 seconds they start to blow acid out the cap vents. There is a very good chance of exploding the 6v battery. Please do not do this, there is too much chance of getting hurt by flying battery acid or case parts.
It would be best if you could find a way to charge that battery, so you do not have to boost or tow it to start. Also letting that battery set whild run down is very hard on the battery.
