Can anyone show me a compact truck that gets good mileage? Yours sounds typical. I have a 98 Ranger 4x4 with a 3L V-6 that gets about the same or perhaps a bit worse. 16-18 is about normal for the way I drive. 24 is the absolute best I did and that was once and traveling most of the time at 50-55 mph. Little trucks, for whatever reason simply don't get good mileage it seems. This one has 4.10's that don't help it either, but it wouldn't be very driveable without them considering the torque it has... I'd expect the Dakota to be about the same.
