I've always purchased cars that come off lease. Typically they are less than 20,000 miles and about 2/3 the price of new. Full factory warranty and just broke in. In 1995 I bought 2 Thunderbirds off lease for less than $12,000 each. Mine had 18,000 miles and hers had 16,000. Before that it was a Chevy Blazer. Before that was an Olds Cutlass. Really good luck with all of them doing it that way.
Just don't buy an old police car. 140,000 miles seems to be about the life of them. And they have been run really hard.
