Seems a two-door would be kind of miserable. Both our diesel Chevettes and diesel Volkswagens are four doors. That being said - we don't use any of them for long trips - just local suff and 50 mile trips to the supermarket. We do all our traveling in a K5 Chevy Blazer or an extended-cab full size truck with a slide-on camper on the back. The diesel K5 Blazers get around 21 MPG highway. Dodge W250 with the Cummins 5.9 also gets around 20 MPG and my Ford F250 witha 7.3 turbo gets around 16 MPG at best.
