Yes they dumped in "used" motor oil, not burned oil, diff oil or any other waste oil that was created during the repair/maintance, then the machine was refilled with No2 before returning to service.
About the only time one would have to watch using this method would be in cold climates where the visocity might be too thick for the temperatures. That all depends on how large of fuel tank the equipment has. If you were mixing 4gal of used oil to a 40gal fuel tank, then I really don't see a problem until straight No2 would start having gell concerns because of ambient temps.
