You guys that responded to that post below about valuations in Michigan, read my two responses. I've tried to answer your concerns. RayP,I wrote a letter to the Daily News explaining this too, should be in Monday or Tuesday. If you guys go to Board of Review, don't get out of line. We don't represent the township. In my case,I'm just there because I was stupid enough to answer the phone a dozen years ago when they called to ask if I'd do it. We're just there to hear your protest, hear the assessors side and act as judge and jury as to who's right. Pretty much,we just make sure there are no mistakes and that everything is EQUALIZED. That is,the assessor isn't singling anybody out for a personal grudge or anything.WE AREN'T ASSESSORS. That's not our job.We go to a class to learn what we can about assessing and what powers we have as a board, but we don't set these values. P!ssing us off with an attitude doesn't exactly put us on your side right off the bat,I'll tell you that much. But,read my responses, especially the one I just posted. RayP,watch the paper. Cut it out and give it to others. I hope it'll help clear things up and make everybody's life easier during board of review season.
