I read that too, jm.watkins. They are promoting this auction as being NO RESERVE. But everything is sold subject to the owner's confirmation, and Kruse has the right to bid on any item in order to "protect" the owner, just as you said.
This whole auction is just one big extortion scheme. The fees/premiums/taxes have been put in place in order to line the pockets of Kruse. Like I said in my earlier post, if you tally up all the fees/taxes/premiums, expect to add at least 20% to your final bid to cover these costs.
